Healthy Asia Pacific 2020

The “Healthy Asia Pacific 2020” Initiative, proposed by China, was formulated by HWG and LSIF and approved by Health Ministers participating in HLM4 in Beijing in August 2014. At the 26th Ministerial Meeting in 2014, the APEC Leaders welcomed the “Healthy Asia Pacific 2020” Initiative that calls on the APEC economies to develop sustainable and high performing health systems through “health in all policies” and a holistic approach namely “whole-of-government,” “whole-of-society,” and “whole-of region” to achieve people’s health and wellbeing throughout the whole life course by 2020. In 2015, the Philippines helped to develop a roadmap for the Healthy Asia Pacific 2020 Initiative that was endorsed by Ministers and officials. The Healthy Asia Pacific 2020 Roadmap covers four priorities and five critical success factors and key actions.
